Last week, I wrote about how Elizabeth Warren is actively spreading misinformation when it comes Hamas using Bitcoin/crypto for crowdfunding.
This week, I’ll first touch on how she seems to be doubling down on her manipulative efforts before sharing the part of the story she’s missing when it comes to Bitcoin/crypto.
On Wednesday, Elliptic — the data analytics firm that provided The Wall Street Journal with the crypto transaction data it used in the piece that Elizabeth Warren cited in her letter in which she asked the Biden administration to take action on crypto-financed terrorism — issued the following statement in a blog post entitled “Setting the record straight on crypto crowdfunding by Hamas”:
In the wake of Elliptic’s post, The Wall Street Journal partially corrected the way in which it mischaracterized the amount of money Hamas fundraised via crypto rails.
But Elizabeth Warren continues stand by her lie.
While it’s sad to see another power-hungry politician push a false narrative for their own gain, it’s also hardly surprising.
I don’t want to focus on the negative today, though.
Instead, I’d like to share some uplifting stories about how Bitcoin is empowering people around the globe.
And so I present to you my first article for Bitcoin Magazine: “Africa: The New Land of the Free”
Note about the title: I titled the piece “Africa: Land of the Free”, but the editorial staff at Bitcoin Magazine changed it without my consent before publishing the article. The new title sounds a bit paternalistic, and that wasn’t my intention. I apologize if it comes across that way.
In the piece, I detailed how the United States — New York in particular — continues take a very restrictive approach to Bitcoin/crypto, while Africans, including members of African governments and central banks, remain more open to greater Bitcoin adoption in efforts to help people on the continent stay afloat financially while inflation runs rampant in African countries.
I hope you enjoy the piece.
Also, I just published my interview with the incredibly wise and compassionate Brindon Mwiine of Uganda.
Also available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Brindon is a Bitcoin educator and community leader based in Kampala, the capital of Uganda.
I believe he’s about 25 years old, but he speaks with the wisdom of someone twice his age.
One of the most beautiful projects with which Brindon is currently involved is raising money for orphans in Uganda.
He’s enabled this orphanage with which he works to accept donations in bitcoin, which he’s reported has helped boost donations from around the world. These bitcoin donations are currently helping the orphanage feed, clothe and provide shelter to over 70 children.
You can donate bitcoin/sats via the link above or via the Orphans of Uganda Geyser Fund page.
The most incredible part of this whole story? Brindon was once an orphan, and he’s now an internationally recognized community leader who’s helping other children who lost their parents at a young age.
We here at new renaissance capital wish that Elizabeth Warren would share Brindon’s story as readily as she shares misinformation about crypto funding terrorism.
Let’s take a look at what’s happening in the markets.
