With THE SQUAD at this year’s Africa Bitcoin Conference in Nairobi, Kenya.

Just got back from Kenya yesterday (where I was for four days after Abu Dhabi) and my body is broken (three overnight flights in eight days will apparently do that to a man).

Had a great time in Nairobi and was quite inspired by what African developers are working on. One of the coolest projects I saw in Kenya was Tando.

Overall, it was simply wonderful to meet many of the Kenyans and others from Africa with whom I’ve interacted with online for the first time as well as to see friends at the conference.

I left Kenya feel quite blessed.

I hosted the following panel with Karthik Iyer Jayaraman, who convinced the government of Bhutan to start mining bitcoin; Marwan Al Zarouni, who’s been educating higher ups in the government of the United Arab Emirates since 2013; and Prince Philip of Serbia, CSO of Jan 3.

Super interesting discussion if you’re into the notion of countries adopting Bitcoin.

I sat down with Eric Trump (yes, the son of Donald Trump) backstage at the event, and was pleasantly surprised at his depth of knowledge about Bitcoin.

And I had a great chat with Max and Stacy, legends in the Bitcoin space and advisors to El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele.

As I put together this edition of the newsletter, I’m reminded of the moment a little over two years ago when I felt in my gut that my purpose on this planet was to document Bitcoin adoption around the globe.

While I started doing that on a more local level through my podcast, I now get the opportunity to get to speak with advisors to and sons of heads of state around the world.

I can’t express my gratitude to Bitcoin Magazine, Forbes Digital Assets and to all who have supported me along this journey enough. This has all been both utterly surreal and quite humbling, and I’m so glad to have all of you readers along for the ride.
